Stoke Mandeville in Buckinghamshire
The Trust expanded the A&E Department at Stoke Mandeville in order to focus its medical A&E expertise in a single site to provide a more specialist, better resourced and higher quality service overall.
The development included a new 20 bed CDU facility, reception/nurse bay, dirty utility, storage room and WC/showers. The project also included five resuscitation bays comprising of an examination lamp, surgeons and anaesthetist pendants, IPS electrical outlets and fitted furniture. The development required an IPS/UPS system installed throughout.
In addition to the IPS/UPS and all general lighting and small power, other specialist services installed by SBE included the fire alarm system and a new nurse call system throughout. SBE’s expertise in this area was brought to bear in the installation of A/B circuits, and ERBs (Earth Reference Boxes) throughout this critical project.
